Proof

That yellow arrow is pointing at yours truly, arms raised, celebrating a home run by JP Arencibia. Check the video here. It's proof that I love my Jays and I love their home runs. That, and it's probably the only time I'll be on SportsCenter. Dah-na-na, dah-na-na!

The antics of Jim Leyland

As long as there are managers like Jim Leyland, I will continue to watch baseball. He told the AP:
“My only point was in 48 years of baseball, I have never seen a play where a groundball is thrown to the first baseman, called one way, and changed. I have never seen that in 48 years,” Leyland said. “I’m obviously smart enough to know that the guy was out. That was not my argument whatsoever.”
Replays clearly show that the runner was out, but he put on quite the show for his first ejection of the season.

First post

I'm doing this because a horoscope told me to.

I'm not one to follow the directions of horoscopes, or even read them for that matter, but it did say that it would be beneficial to start a blog today. I have been working on this (read: putting this off) for some time now, and that's as good a reason as any to get this going. Over the coming weeks there will be a better design, a sense of direction, and a lot of recipes. In the meantime there is going to be the odd ramble, the occasional design miscue and posts like this:

If I had to field a baseball team right now, it would be as follows:

P - Tim Hudson ATL
1B - Gaby Sanchez FLA
2B - Dustin Pedroia BOS
SS - Reid Brignac TBR
3B - Jerry Hairston WSN
LF - Milton Bradley SEA
CF - John Mayberry PHI
RF - Carlos Beltran NYM
C - Matt Treanor KCR
Bench - Jon Jay STL, Gordon Beckham CWS, Brandon Inge BAL
Bullpen -  Micah Owings ARI, Glen Perkins MIN

If you can figure out why those players were selected, you win my respect and gratitude.

Expect more arbitrary posts about baseball, Toronto, food, and other fun stuff in the future.
